We are saddened to report the passing of Jim Smith.  Jim had been involved in athletics for over 35 years after being identified as a ‘willing’ parent, following his daughter Cathy around various Liverpool Harriers events.  He was a great supporter of club and county athletics, and a long time track judge.  He lost his  battle against Covid and passed away peacefully in his sleep on Sunday.  See also from Liverpool Harriers web site.

Anne Brimage, M’side County Secretary, advises: “On Monday evening 9th November 2020, Merseyside County Athletic Association met via social media to discuss the feasibility of staging their 2021 County Cross Country Championships. Sadly we have concluded that in the current health crisis this will not be possible and we have no plans to stage them in 2021.
We know athletes in the County will be disappointed but these are unprecedented times.
The association hopes that everyone will continue to stay healthy and safe.”
